Update : The Post was featured in tabloid which no-one-reads [link]
As a kid I used watch ‘Ramayan’ and ‘Mahabharat’ at my neighbour’s house on sundays. These where the two serials which got everybody hooked. It had all the ingredients any bollywood port-boiler will have action, emotion, drama, special effect, but thats not what made me hooked to the idiot box for two long hours. It was more of a faith in our idols. We truly celebrate what we saw and for us Arun was Ram and Nitish was Krishna, people worshiped them like real god. It was an era when I first saw the TV. It used to show 1 hr news on DoorDarshan in the morning and in evening (i don’t remember the time) and thats was it, 4-5 serial and 2
news slot thats what TV meant. But then the the man Subhash Chandra came in and lauched india’s first private channel called ‘Zee’ as he saw the untapped indian market and huge potential that TV industry may have and nothing remained same after that.
cut to :
seriously everthing changed….and not for good………:(
Last four year i have been forced to watch this serial called “kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi” (such a big name) with my mum. Logic or w/o logic she just love it and with logic or without it, i just hated it. Cursing every actor in that seral and pointing out every single iil-logical statement the charcter makes (most of the character have 4 wifes and atleast 2 mistress so its hard to have logic in life but still…), but she always ignores me (lovely mom!!!).
But as saying goes “Bhagwan ke Ghar me der hai andher nahi” God accepted my request or for that matter star plus accepted my request, they have decided that kyunki will go off-air because of poor TRP’s ..voilaaaaaaaaaa…what a moment….goosebumps…:P
I wish all these Ekta serials goes off-air. Its not that I am against balaji or something but they just have regressive serial. They show 3 marriage for average men and 2 gf’s in bonus (not possible). Sati-savitri bahu turning vamp any moment just to add the twist in the plot and after all that they say they are talking about women empowerment …..pathetic!!!!!!!!!!.
P.S.:No spell check or grammar check is done for the post,,, :P
till den…….. :)
